Rev. Chris Peters, Head of Staff

Rev. Chris Peters (he/him/his) is a pastor whose ministry emphasizes gratitude to God and building relationships, while his vision for Christ’s church is to welcome our neighbors with a listening ear, extended hand, and a heart for justice. Chris earned a B.A. in Religious Studies from the University of South Carolina – Columbia in 2004 and a M.Div. from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA, in 2014. Rev. Peters began as Head of Staff at Westminster in September 2020 and has over two decades of experience serving PCUSA churches in Columbia, SC, Atlanta, GA, and Fairhope, AL.

Chris views his call as lived out in a variety of settings – from pulpit, baptismal font and communion table, to hospital bedside and nursing home, to adult Sunday School classroom and youth conference, to community boards and service projects, to disaster-impacted cities in the U.S. and with partner churches abroad.

Chris is married to Rev. Lauren Peters, a Clergy Coach and Consultant. They have a son, Wilder, and two hyper dogs, Mobi and Jubilee. For fun, Chris enjoys exploring Lincoln’s trails, parks, and restaurants with family and friends, playing guitar, reading, and seeing live music (including an embarrassing amount of Dave Matthews Band concerts over the years). In 2022, Chris joined Lincoln Rotary #14, and the Peters family enjoys being passholders to the Lincoln Children’s Zoo.
