Matt Talbot: We are excited to announce the opportunity for families to work together serving dinner at Matt Talbot. Every other month, Westminster volunteers cook and serve dinner for 100-130 people at Matt Talbot Kitchen and Outreach. Cooks arrive around 3:30 p.m., those who are serving arrive around 4:45 p.m. After dinner, volunteers clean the kitchen, wash dishes, and sweep the floor, usually finishing around 7 p.m. Currently Westminster serves on the 1st Friday of even numbered month and the 1st Sunday of the odd numbered months. Gathering Place: WPC serves dinner at the Gathering Place on the second Friday of each month, arriving at 4:30. Ordinarily this is done with a team of 6 to 8 people. During this COVID “season” we are restricted to teams of two serving the prepared meal in “to go” boxes, which are delivered by staff to guests on the porch at 1443 E Street. Presently we have 14 people taking turns at serving, and we would welcome new members. Anyone who wants to join the team needs to fill out a form that comes from Community Action Partnership.
