Faith and Athletics
Who isn’t aware of the impact of sports on our community, state and nation? It’s easy to sense how pride in our state, or high school, rises or falls with the success or disappointment of our sports teams. People of faith are impacted by this phenomenon from the inside and from afar. Let’s explore how faith and sports interact by hearing from some well-known and some local experts.
August 12 | Ken Govaerts competed at the university level in track for Oklahoma State University, and Ray Stevens competed at Nebraska in track. Both are Westminster members.
August 19 | Sarah Sasse-Kildow was State High School Golf Champion two years in a row and was and All-American golfer for UNL.
August 26 | Craig Sundberg grew up at Westminster, quarterbacked the Huskers in the 1980s and was the MVP of the 1985 Sugar Bowl.
