SUMMARY:Johannes Brahms: Ein Deutsches Requiem
DESCRIPTION:This Spring\, Westminster Choir will present excerpts from this famous work on Sunday\, March 25th at our 10:30 am worship.\nChurch choirs across the world are busy rehearsing requiems by many of the great composers in preparation for Holy Week. While the term “requiem” refers to a Mass for the dead\, critics have coined Ein Deutsches Requiem by Johannes Brahms a “Human Requiem” or a “Mass for the Living” due to the composer’s choice of texts. Due to time constraints\, the Requiem will not be performed in its entirety. However\, we will include the most beloved movement\, “How Lovely is Thy Dwelling Place”. This performance will feature baritone soloist Trey Meyer and pianists Travis Worsham and Dr. Brenda Wristen. The musicians will be led by guest conductor Dr. Matthew Oltman\, UNL lecturer in choral activities and Music Director Emeritus of the Grammy award winning ensemble Chanticleer. Plan to attend this important worship service and consider reaching out to others in your life who might be moved by this deeply spiritual experience. \n

Our faith focuses on who God is and what God has done\, especially in Jesus Christ. We acknowledge who we are and in what we seek to recognize and acknowledge the great and good God we worship and serve. This is the theme of study for Westminster Bible Class this Spring. Won’t you join us? Come once in awhile or each Sunday. We look forward to sharing our study together with you. \nCoffee and donut holes are waiting  along with a friendly\, spirit-filled group of friends. \n

SUMMARY:Hear What God is doing in South Sudan
DESCRIPTION:Hear What God is doing in South Sudan\nYou are invited to come for a light meal and presentation by Reverend Debbie Braaksma\, African Area Coordinator for the Presbyterian World Mission Department. Reverend Braaksma will update us about Jim McGill and projects in South Sudan by the PCUSA in conjunction with the Presbyterian Church of South Sudan and others. \nKindly RSVP by February 20 to: David  at waskily@gmail.com\, or Gary at txhal-ler2@att.net. \nFor many in South Sudan\, clean water can be a rarity; yet water is something most Americans take for granted\, think-ing that fresh water is a readily available resource. Recognizing the scarcity of water in many African villages\, Presbyterians and not-for-profit organizations ae working to help villagers develop immediate\, emergency water sources. Join members of Westminster and our Presbytery in learn-ing how we can assist the work already being done to help alleviate suffering and thirst.
