DESCRIPTION:Community Conversations: Civility in Public Life Community Conversations has been the Adult Education Forum theme in January for at least a decade. This year’s focus is not a new one but something we believe God wants us to practice until we get it right – Civility in Public Life. The line-up provides good diversity in several categories. \n  \nOur 2020 theme is “Civility in Public Life” and our first speaker this coming Sunday is Jack Gould who is the issues chair for Common Cause. He has been invited to explain his volunteer position and then tell some stories about his experiences raising hard issues that need to be addressed. Come with your questions for Jack. DESCRIPTION:This is an opportunity for children to enjoy one another as they learn about Jesus. Parents are encouraged to drop off their children for two hours and go on a date\, go to the grocery store or have time alone. Children will have a meal\, music\, Bible lesson\, games and a bedtime story. Wednesdays\, from 5 to 7 pm. \n\n\n\nWe will be taking a break for the holidays. There will be no PNO on the following dates: December 18\, December 25\, January 1. The program will resume on January 8. Blessed Holidays from the PNO staff!

Childcare is provided for children birth through age 3 during Sunday services. Children age 4 through grade 5 may join their friends in Faith Village after the Children’s Conversation during the 9:30 a.m. service. We are excited to welcome you! \nTraditional Worship\nJoin us on Sundays at 9:30 AM  for a traditional worship in our historic sanctuary. Communion is held the first Sunday of each month. \nSudanese Worship\nA small congregation led by a Sudanese ministry meets in the Chapel at noon on Sundays. The service is in the Nuer language and features traditional music.

DESCRIPTION:The Heritage League is holding their 47th annual Holiday of Trees on Thursday\, Dec. 5 and Friday\, Dec. 6 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The hours of the event are Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (On Friday at 6:30 the Raffle will be held and food service will close.) The admission price remains at $1 per person. Tickets may be purchased at the door or from The Heritage League members. \nProceeds from this year’s ticket sales will go to the Lincoln Music Teachers Association Music Outreach Program [LMTA-MOP] which provides low-cost music lessons\, instruments\, repairs\, sheet music\, and community performance opportunities for up to 50 area students who could not afford the full price of lessons\, but who would find great benefit from the study of music. The student must be nominated by a person in authority\, such as a school music teacher\, a homeroom teacher\, guidance counselor or LMTA teacher as being interested in music\, financially in need\, and in a position where music would be beneficial. For more information contact 402-477-5647\, MOP@LMTA.info\, or www.LMTA.info [Music Outreach Program]. LMTA is a 501 (c)(3) corporation. \nHoliday of Trees will display 20 beautiful trees decorated by community members and organizations\, including LMTA. In September of 1973 our charter member\, Cec Cather\, presented the Holiday of Trees idea as a fundraiser for local charities. The first Holiday of Trees was held in November of the same year with 10 decorated trees and a bake sale. $1000 was raised and donated to the newly opened Burn Center at St. Elizabeth Hospital. This tradition has continued for 47 years and over $250\,000 has been donated to local organizations. \nThe Heritage League Woman’s Club was organized in 1966 and is affiliated with the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC). The Heritage League was organized for charitable and educational purposes and is a 501(c)(3) organization. The club meets on Tuesdays for general meetings with featured programs and also has special interest groups that include Bridge\, Books\, and Home & Away.
