This workshop\, that will feel like a retreat\, explores the dance between contemplation\, community\, and scripture. \nThis event is for anyone interested in Christian contemplative prayer\, its practice & possibilities in the Church and community\, and the formative dance between contemplation & scripture. This event is participatory and will include a Friday Night Eucharist Compline Service and time throughout the event for Q & A. \nParticipants will receive via mail an instruction guide to Centering Prayer and a copy of Dr. Haas’ books   “The Contemplative Church: How Meditative Prayer and Monastic Practices Help Congregations Flourish” and “Centering Prayers: A One-Year Daily Companion for Going Deeper into the Love of God” and resources to continue the journey. And that’s why we’re collaborating with Spring Creek Prairie—just on time for fall planting—to bring you… \nPlants for Birds: Change your Yard\, Community\, and Climate with Native Plants \nSpring Creek Prairie invites you to join us via Zoom on Tuesday\, August 25 from 6:30-8:00 pm to learn about native plants\, birds\, and a promising\, new faith coalition.  This event is kindly hosted by the Green Sanctuary Committee at Unitarian Church of Lincoln and the Green@Heart team from Westminster Presbyterian. The program will feature the Audubon Nebraska “Plants for Birds” team\, Cacey Wilken and Jason “the Birdnerd” St. Sauver\, followed by time for questions and discussion. \n      Topics will include information about the Plants for Birds program\, native plantings in the urban and suburban landscape\, advocating for native plant use at the city and state levels\, and a growing vision for a faith and climate coalition.  Our hope is to foster discussion and excitement around collective and individual action in support of creation care in Lincoln’s faith community and beyond.

Only the WPC Session has the authority to restart public worship and activities. Therefore\, we are not having in-person worship until further notice.\nWorship will continue to be held virtualy on Sundays on our Website via YouTube under our Worship Link at the top of this page\, and televised on Spectrum channel 1302 and Windstream channel 13 at 12:30 pm on Thursdays and 1:00 PM on Saturdays.\nThe church office is closed and all meetings\, group gatherings and events are cancelled.
