Dream It! Do It! Discipleship!

Do you sense it? It’s time to dream. A journey through the Bible is filled with stories of dreamers who changed the world.

Abram’s dream transforms his barren existence into one filled with life.

Joseph’s dream saves a nation from starvation.

Gideon’s dream leads him to victory in spite of overwhelming odds.

Solomon’s dream of wisdom gives him superabundant success.

Daniel’s dream sees through the folly of unjust power saves his people.

The most powerful “dream passage” in the entire New Testament is when the whole church is given the power of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2:17-18, and is told:

“I will pour out my Spirit on all people…your young ones shall see visions, and your old ones shall dream dreams…”

Its time to dream. To open ourselves to what God is enabling and empowering us to be. And once we have dreamed the dream, then to do it. To make the choices that will help us live out God’s call to change lives.

Jesus calls us into community because we inspire, support and empower one another. Together, we can accomplish far more than we can alone. When we gather together in worship, in small groups, in fellowship, we generate ideas and energy. And with the outstanding stewardship drives of this year and the next, we can begin to dream far greater dreams of faith, hope and love. Disciplined discipleship is taking us to a whole new chapter in our church life together.

This month, we will begin exploring some of those prime time moments in the Bible, when God gives the faithful dreams. To see the faithful rise up and turn those dreams into reality has inspired the church throughout its history.

Now it is our time to dream. And it is our time to live out the inspiration God is giving us.

In faithful expectation,

Andrew McDonald
Senior Pastor

P.S. I look forward to seeing you on Genesis Sunday along with all the special guests we will welcome that day!
