“Missa Jazzis”
Westminster Choir together with NWU Jazz Choir will offer “Missa Jazzis” by Dr. Joe Utterback, on April 17, Palm Sunday, at 10:30 worship. This set of Mass pieces was composed in 2009 and premiered on that Palm Sunday. This dramatic setting includes contemplative movements and contrasting powerful and lively movements. The jazz characteristic can be seen for the improvisatory nature on trumpet, piano and solos. One God praised by many voices.

Hello to the music staff at Westminster Presbyterian Church. We were
checking out performances of Joe Utterback’s MISSA JAZZIS online and saw the notice
of your upcoming Palm Sunday 10:30 service. We would very much appreciate
receiving two copies of the Sunday morning bulletin. Joe keeps albums of the
performances of his works and Jazzmuze keeps an archive record as well.
