Christmas Eve: Something New
We are adding a new Christmas eve service this year.
Don‘t worry: the 3, 5 and 9 o‘clock services will stay the same.
- The 3:00 service will have a special guest piano soloist.
- The Children‘s choirs will sing with their divine voices at 5:00.
- The Nebraska Brass and Westminster Brass at 5 and, along with the bells and Westminster Choir at 9.
But at our new 7:00 Christmas eve service, you will hear more of a rock beat. Yes, guitars, sax, percussion, and the music itself will give this Christmas Eve service a new sound. And yes, there will be ―Silent Night‖ with candlelight there too. But we wanted to offer a wider view of Christmas with a new musical approach for this service. I think some of you may enjoy the difference – please join us.
Which ever service fits with your celebration, we look forward to this celebration of joy with you. Christmas is about God surprising us. It is about God giving birth to something new. Christmas is about God coming into the world where we live, and bringing us new life and a new beginning.
What matters is that we hear the infant‘s cry, hear the angel‘s invitation, and see the Light that shines in the darkness. It is our night to share the light – the light of God‘s love in the birth of Jesus.
Invite someone to join you – a candlelight Christmas Eve is a gift they will always remember. Merry Christmas!
