36th Annual
Holiday of Trees
The Heritage League will sponsor the 36th annual Holiday of
Trees at Westminster Presbyterian Church on December 4th and
5th, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The price of admission is
$1.00.
Trees will be decorated by community groups and individuals,
in many different styles. This year some of the participating
decorators will be Mayor Beutler's office, the Lincoln
Needleworkers' Guild, Fresh Start Home, the Community Women's
Club, Ten Thousand Villages, Lincoln Women's Chamber of
Commerce, Child Advocacy Center, Mad Dads of Lincoln, Inc.,
Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the YWCA, the Bess Streeter
Aldrich Foundation, and Matt Talbot's Kitchen and Outreach (the
beneficiary of the ticket sale proceeds). Other Lincoln
charities will be selected in the Spring to receive the rest of
the Holiday of Trees proceeds. Over the past 35 years, the
Heritage League has given in excess of $150,000 to various
Lincoln charities.
The Holiday of Trees includes Attic Treasures, the Boutique,
the Pantry, a raffle for gourmet holiday baskets, and a coffee
shop where visitors can enjoy homemade sloppy joes, cinnamon
rolls, chicken noodle soup, apple pie, carrot cake and coffee.
Santa Claus will visit and Christmas music will be played, some
recorded and some performed by guest artists. The Holiday of
Trees is always a joyous affair -- be sure to mark your calendars
for this year's celebration! For more information contact Beth
Hamilton, 327-0368.
