Sanctuary Renovation Project

Work above the scaffolding is nearly complete with the painters expected to be done with the ceiling and the upper walls the week of July 21st. The new sound system speakers are installed along with the fire sprinkler piping and heads. Nearly all of the rough-in conduit and wiring is installed at ceiling level along with much of the work at floor level. The scaffolding should be coming down the first week of August revealing the new paint scheme. At that point the new raised chancel construction will begin, followed by the radiant floor heating system. Things will progress pretty quickly from that point so stay tuned.

Tuckpointing has been done to repair the mortar joints between the bricks on the building.  This aids in keeping out the moisture from rain and snow.

Approximately 2/3 of the nearly $1,500,000 in pledges have been received in cash. In addition, we have received nearly $100,000 in interest earned and non-pledged gifts. From this revenue we have reduced debt on the loan from our prior construction project and have dollars in the construction account to begin Phase Ι of the Sanctuary renovations. This is possible at this time due to the early payment of many pledges, however we have yet to collect the balance of approximately $500,000 to complete Phase Ι and to further reduce debt.

Thanks to all who are helping Westminster to "Soar into its Second Century."
